Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests come after a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt in the event. Five people went to hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which police said was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
